At Sicilian NQ, food has never been just about food. Since opening in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, we have tried to create a different kind of Sicilian restaurant — one built around hospitality, sustainability and compassion.

Vegan Set Menu Throughout June

For the entire month of June, Sicilian NQ will be raising funds for Santuario Sotto la Panca ODV , an independent animal sanctuary in Sicily that rescues farm animals, dogs and other vulnerable animals from abandonment, neglect and slaughter situations.

In celebration of National Animal Rights Day on 7th June, we have created a special vegan Sicilian set menu to support the animals. The menu celebrates traditional Sicilian flavours in a fully plant-based way, while helping us contribute to a cause that is deeply connected to our values.

Every booking, donation and contribution helps support real animals who need care, safety and a second chance.

Why We Support the Animals

Behind Sicilian NQ there has always been a deeper connection with animal welfare, sustainability and ethical choices. Our menu has gradually evolved into a mostly plant-based Sicilian concept inspired by the food traditions we grew up with in Sicily: simple ingredients, seasonal vegetables, handmade pasta, pistachio, citrus, aubergines, herbs and family recipes.

We still believe food should feel joyful, indulgent and social. But we also believe great food does not need cruelty behind it.

Many of the animals rescued by Sotto la Panca come from difficult situations. Some were abandoned, some were neglected, and others were rescued from systems where they were never meant to grow old.

What started as a rescue effort in Sicily slowly became a larger mission based on one simple idea: if we can reduce suffering where possible, we should try.

Sicilian cuisine is naturally rich in vegetables, citrus, pistachio, herbs, legumes and plant-based traditions that existed long before modern food trends.

At Sicilian NQ, we simply chose to build on that side of Sicily.

We understand that not everyone will share the same views, and this page is not about judging anyone. It is simply about creating a restaurant environment where food, hospitality and compassion can coexist.

A restaurant can serve good food. But it can also stand for something. And if a dinner can help create even a little more compassion in the world, then we believe it is worth doing.
