Pistachio Cake called Setteveli, a pistachio cream cake - very famous back home. Setteveli is Italian word for ‘seven veils’, seven layers of pistachio cream.
The cake consists of seven layers which alternate between Sicilian homemade pistachio cream and sponge base, all covered with a pistachio glaze and decorated with whole natural pistachios and pistachio grains.
A rich and delicious cake traditionally served in Sicilian for birthday celebrations.It comes from Palermo originally, but now is popular all over the island and italy as well!
